The process of being part of this recovery book has changed me forever. At first I couldn't read it because it seemed odd to have my own words and my own personal experiences in book form. It's surreal and something I never thought would happen. When I finally read through the pages I immediately felt free in a way I have never quite experienced before. It is so amazing to be able to finally close the chapter (literally) on a difficult time in my life. I no longer have to carry it around with me because as it turns out, it's new home is safe and secure in print forever.
How cool to see your name in print, and to know that your story is going to make an impact on thousands of readers world-wide. Love the analogy - truly a great way to close this chapter! xox
ReplyDeleteAww Thank-you my dear friend. I do so appreciate all your love and support xo
DeleteAmazing :) kylie-Rose, what is this book? I would be interested in reading. Such a wonderful and empowering feeling. I was lucky to have 2 pieces of my writing also published in a book on body image. Made the journey almost mean something at the thought someone could gain inspiration. Well done xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie.
ReplyDeleteThank-you! Where could I find the link to your published pieces as I would very much like to read them.
The book is called 'My Recovery' by Julie Parker. It has 28 amazing people who have overcome anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder and other issues such as self-harm and depression. All different ages and walks of life. The proceeds of the book go to The Butterfly Foundation which supports ED suffers in Australia so is for a great cause too.
