Everybody needs a recovery 'toolbox'. The things that help you through the toughest times have so much value and power and thus should always be held onto tightly. As you move forward in recovery you learn what is helpful and also counterproductive to your well being. The overall aim is to then only keep what is helpful, genuine and good for you and say farewell to the rest.
Throughout my very own recovery journey my greatest comfort has always been nothing more that a big bubble bath surrounded by candles and a good book/or journal to write within. Chances are if I've had a bad day I always end up in a bathtub... :)
